Potency, Midlines versus Midpoints and Trauma
Katherine has been a huge influence on my approach to cranial work. This interview was recorded at the end of a seminar we taught together for the Da Sein Institut near Zurich. I always have a lot of fun and learn a lot being around Katherine. I asked her some questions about how cranial work has developed over the last 15 years, her experience of potency, and working with the midline. At the end there is a short discussion on trauma and the work of Stephen Porges.
Here is her biography:
Katherine Ukleja practised osteopathy for many years before qualifying as a Craniosacral Therapist. Her extensive cranial training began in 1987 and culminated in studying under Franklyn Sills at the Karuna Insitute. Katherine’s interest in health and healing originated in a desire to understand why certain people survive extraordinary circumstances and overcome ‘incurable’ disease. Three decades on, she feels the principles of Craniosacral Biodynamics come close to the answers. She is a principal teacher in this field on both sides of the Atlantic, with a reputation for making complex material lively and accessible. Additionally, she runs a busy craniosacral practice in Devon, UK. Katherine is currently teaching on the Body Intelligence Oslo training and has also taught with Body Intelligence in India, Australia and New Zealand.
